Concentration Pieces: Environmental Protection Fashion Magazine
The three images above are different fashion magazine covers for Fashion magazine and Vogue that I used as reference for designing the cover of my magazine.
The images above show the preparation sketches I did for the first piece of my concentration which depicts the cover page of my animal and environmental themed fashion magazine.
The photos above show the progression of my first concentration piece as I completed it. I first started with a white outline and then I started adding color to the magazine title, and then finally moved on to start the face of my covergirl.
The photo above is the final image of my first concentration piece for Biosphere magazine. (To be continued)
The images above are the practice sketches for the second piece of my concentration. This is a poison dart frog themed dress that I did a small color sketch of first, and then sketched a full page plan.
The photos above are the in progress pictures of my poison dart frog page of the fashion magazine. As shown I started with the title at the top of the page, then I moved on to draw the face of my model, who in this case is my older sister, and then I started drawing the first poison dart frog image that inspired the dress.
The images above are the practice sketches for the third piece of my concentration. This is a black-footed ferret themed dress that I did a small sketch first in color, and then sketched a larger full page plan.
The above images show my Black-footed Ferret piece step by step as I worked on it. As seen, I started with the main title, then moved on the the dress, and then moved on to the facts and information about the endangered species.
The sketch shown above is the rough sketch of my plan for the Western Lowland Gorilla magazine page and dress design.
The photos above are the in progress photos of my western lowland gorilla piece. Just like the other pieces, I started with the title, then moved on to drawing the dress and model and moved on from there.
The sketches above are the rough first design of a dress inspired by a timber rattlesnake and the beginning of a sketch for the actual magazine page.

Written Evidence:
In my sustained investigation I brought together my questions about habitat destruction, animal endangerment, extinction and my love for fashion by hand drawing all images and text as magazine covers for a theoretical company named Biosphere. This is a fashion company that designs dresses that all in some way represent an endangered species. The goal for the magazine is to raise awareness of the threats these animals face, encourage people to take action, and have a portion of the profit from each dress donated to the species.
I wanted to give faces to the animals that some people do not fully comprehend are real, living creatures, and show their innocence and beauty, such as the black-footed ferret in piece 3. I showed this by drawing at least one image of the animal being represented on each magazine cover, such as the gorilla in piece 4. I hand-drew informative side-bars to provide links for real life volunteer opportunities and listing the reasons why the animal is endangered.
